In our spotlight today is Arianna Huffington, co-founder and editor-in-chief of the digital media platform The Huffington Post. Since the site’s launch in May of 2005, Huffington has overseen its growth into a media giant that attracts tens of millions of visitors each month, all of them eager for its news updates and commentary.
Huffington’s accomplishments do not end there. She has written numerous books, taken on guest acting roles and currently serves as a One Young World counselor. In addition, Huffington has been active in politics, lobbying for various causes and endorsing numerous candidates. She even ran for office herself in 2003, during California’s gubernatorial recall election.

Her work — and the clout she has amassed as a result — has secured Huffington lofty spots on numerous lists of influential woman, including those compiled by the likes of Forbes and The Guardian.
Getting to where she is today hasn’t been easy. But through the difficulties, stumbles and falls, Huffington has learned a great deal. She encourages us all to learn from the mistakes that we make along our respective paths. When we do, those “failures” have real value.
