The Story Exchange, a nonprofit media organization dedicated to telling the personal and professional stories of women business owners, is proud to announce that on Thursday it was named a finalist for a 2016 Gerald Loeb Award, one of the most prestigious honors in business journalism.
Its podcast episode “Succeeding as a Woman in Tech,” hosted by Colleen DeBaise and created in collaboration with Sue Williams, Victoria Wang, Nusha Balyan, Sam Shinn and Michelle Ciotta, is among four finalists in the audio category.
The episode examines whether women would enjoy better tech products, if there were more women leaders in the tech industry. It finds answers through the stories of three women entrepreneurs — Shaan Kandawalla of PlayDate Digital, Melody McCloskey of StyleSeat and Amy Sheng of CellScope — who are succeeding in tech with innovations that address female painpoints.
Loeb Awards finalists in 12 categories were chosen from more than 490 entries submitted by local, regional and national outlets. Winners of this year’s awards will be announced at a banquet on June 28 in New York City. We can’t wait!
