Reason for starting: In 2009, when the economy crashed, I ran for Belmont City Council to attempt to discover a solution for the damaged economy. While I did not recieve a seat on the council, the experience gave me the bright idea of Hire10. Hire10’s initiative is to bridge local applicants to local jobs (10 miles and less), to cut down commuting time, and assist the struggling economy. With this project, I am still able to follow my dream of helping my community.

How do you define success? In essence, success is your individual accomplishments that make you who you are and define how others perceive you. While monetary rewards are metric, the sense of individual accomplishment, knowing that you achieved your goal, is the greatest reward.
Biggest Success: Finding my passion, my life’s purpose of creating sustainability in our communities though Hire10 is my biggest success. So many people go through life searching for that one thing that they truly love doing, but I am lucky enough to have already found it.
What is your top challenge and how have you addressed it? My top challenge is funding. We have addressed it by working with the bank and receiving our first round of crowd funding.

Who is your most important role model? My most important role model is, of course, my mom. Whenever I had an idea or goal, my mother always told me to go do it. “If that’s what you want to do, do it,” she would say. She is always smiling and enjoying life. In this way, she gave me the gift of optimism and the gift of knowing I can accomplish anything. Without this, I would not be where I am today.
